Lost phone? Track it down with a Google search

Tracking down a misplaced phone just got a whole lot easier. Google has just unveiled a new “find my phone” feature which has been enabled with the latest update to the Google app on your phone. All you need to do is go to www.google.co.uk, type in “find my phone” and you’ll be greeted by a map which can show you the current or last location of your Android device.

If the phone’s lost somewhere in your house or you happened to kick it under the seat in your car, you have the option to set off your ring tone with a simple click. If you want to remotely wipe or lock your phone, you can click the map and you’ll be redirected to Android Device Manager.

We hope you never have to the Google’s new “find my phone” feature, but it’s nice to know it’s there when the unforeseeable happens.
